Entrance Eligibility:

  • Open to class or school groups.
  • Supervised by a teacher.
  • Participation by a school group of any size and primary age range.

Entry:

In lieu of an entry fee, the Committee would be grateful if participating schools could promote the Arthur Butler memorial weekend through their school newsletters using the flyers available from our downloads page.

Age Categories:

Primary School : Years K through 6.

Subject / Themes:

Theme One: Australian Aviation History.
This theme requires that presentations be based upon aviation development in Australian history. Artistic discipline: Sculpture using any medium or combination of materials.

Theme Two: Transport Ideas for the Future.
This theme requires that presentations introduce ideas for future innovations in travel for family and community members. Artistic discipline: written and/or graphic projects.

Exhibition Requirements:

  • Presentations must be transportable and are the responsibility of the participant for delivery to the AB Memorial Committee.
  • Presentations must be the original work, or an original compilation of existing work created by the participant.
  • Presentations must adhere to all relevant Intellectual Property laws.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept electronic presentations - your submission must be a hard-copy representation.

Time Frame:

Term Two 2008. Promotion of the competition through schools from Cootamundra to Charleville. (The region covered by Butler Air Transport routes.)

Term Two-Three 2008. Schools project development period.

September 2008. End of Term Three.

The final submission date for entries is Friday September 26, 2008.

The prize in this competition is an Acer laptop computer as described above.

The prize shall be awarded to the winning school, not to an individual.

All entries submitted shall remain the property of the Arthur Butler Memorial Committee.
